BASIC SKILLS CLASSES
BASIC KNITTING I: GETTING STARTED. Designed for the total beginner, you will learn to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind-off. That is as basic as it gets. After this you can handle any number of easy patterns.

BASIC KNITTING II: THE NEXT STEP. Ready to move beyond the scarf? This class introduces basic shaping, fixing mistakes, and improving your tension. We explore reading patterns, the importance of gauge, and picking appropriate yarns for projects.
Class Fee: $20. Jan 26, Sat Mar 18 or Sat Apr 22 (9-12)
BASIC KNITTING III: FINISHING. Learn the basics of blocking, seaming, picking up stitches, and buttonholes. Good finishing skills make all the difference in the final look of your knitting.

BEGINNING SOCKS: Discover the joy of hand knit socks. In this introductory class we will explore the basic heel flap and simple toe. Master the tools for designing your own custom fitting socks.
Class Fee: $20. Sat Jan 14, Mar 11 or May 13 (9-12)
MITERED HEEL SOCKS: Short rows create a snug fitting mitered heel. We will learn the technique by knitting a small sock, and then design a personal pattern for custom fitting socks in any gauge.
Class Fee: $20. Sat Feb 11 (9-12)
TOE-UP MAGIC LOOP SOCKS: Knit on one circular needle, these socks are worked from the toe up with a short row heel. Once mastered you will be able to adapt any pattern to this technique. It also allows you to knit two socks at once! No more second sock syndrome.

ENTRELAC KNITTING: Although entrelac has the appearance of woven strips, it is actually tilted blocks knit in tiers. This class will introduce the six basic components of the technique and provide pattern ideas for putting your new skills to use.
