DE-STASHING YARN SWAPMEET

We all have yarn in our stash that no longer calls our name.  Here is your chance to let it move in with someone who feels the love.  On Sunday April 25th , in celebration of Earth Day, Magpie will be holding its second De-stashing yarn swap.  Bring your unwanted yarn (even partial skeins), patterns, books, fiber related stuff in general and see if you can find them new homes.  We will set up in the parking lot behind the shop (inside if it rains). So bring a basket, blanket, small table, yard chair, whatever you need to be comfy.  This is intended to be a free-form yard sale event.  You can trade or sell your treasures.  Whatever works for you.

Magpie will also be accepting donations of yarn and other craft items for the Federal Prison craft program taking place in Lexington.

Space is limited so you are asked to leave your car out on the street.  Even if you don’t have anything to sell, come find a few new goodies.

To further tempt you Magpie will be open and having a sale on all our organic and fair trade yarns. Call if you have any questions. There will be refreshments inside. See you there.

SUNDAY YARN TASTINGS
Magpie will be holding two Sunday afternoon yarn tastings this summer.  Each tasting will explore six new summer yarns and three complimentary wines.  Many of us don’t enjoy knitting with cotton because of its stiff hand.  But things have changed.  There are now many wonderful organic cotton yarns as well as cottons blended with silk, linen, bamboo, even angora.  These blends have a softer, bouncier hand. The colors are rich and the textures varied.  Join us for a fun afternoon and find out which are your favorites.  Because of the anticipated demand and limited space, advance registration is absolutely necessary.
Tasting Fee $25 each
Sunday May 23 (2-5pm)
Sunday July 18 (2-5pm)

SOCK CLUB meets on the second Saturday of every month. Drop in anytime between 2 and 5pm. Indulge your passion with a new pattern every month. It’s fun to see how they work up in a variety of yarns.
